For example, in testing air content, among other types of tests: alcohol removes air; and therefore is used in the volumetric method and the chace air indicator.

Alcohol accelerates the removal of air.

About concrete, while continous reinforcement provides for controlled cracking, post-tensioning allows a crack free floor.
